Padres Baseball & Softball Camps is hiring teachers, coaches, and youth mentors to work with campers ages 4–13 at our La Jolla summer camp.
This role is ideal for educators and coaches who enjoy working with children and feel comfortable teaching baseball or softball fundamentals in a fun and supportive outdoor camp environment.
Pay: Up to $23.50/hour (Professional Educator Rate) Schedule: Monday–Friday | Approximately 8-hour camp days Season: June 8 – August 14, 2026 Campers: Ages 4–13

As a Padres Camps Coach or Camp Educator, you will guide campers through daily activities focused on baseball and softball skill development.
Camp staff help create a supportive environment where young players can improve their athletic skills while learning teamwork, accountability, and sportsmanship.
Staff work closely with Site Directors and fellow team members to ensure campers have a safe, engaging, and memorable camp experience.
Lead campers through baseball and softball drills and games
Teach and reinforce fundamental skills such as throwing, hitting, and fielding
Maintain a safe and organized camp environment
Encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive behavior
Provide encouragement and feedback during drills and gameplay
Recognize teachable moments to help campers grow both athletically and personally
Work collaboratively with fellow camp staff and leadership
Successful candidates typically:
Have experience working with children ages 4–13

Are comfortable demonstrating baseball or softball fundamentals
Bring enthusiasm, leadership, and positive energy
Able to make a 3–5 week commitment
Have reliable transportation to travel to their assigned camp location
All hires must pass a background screening
