Position Summary
We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist to lead the HR function for our growing manufacturing company. This is a newly established role and an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional to create structure, improve processes, and help modernize the organization while preserving our family-owned culture and values.
The Human Resources Generalist will support all areas of human resources, including recruiting, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, performance management, and training. A key focus of this role will be reviewing long-held practices, developing standard operating procedures, implementing consistent processes, and creating a strong HR foundation that supports future business growth.
The successful candidate will be a confident, hands-on leader who can influence change, establish accountability, and serve as a trusted advisor to employees, managers, and ownership.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Leadership & Process Improvement
- Lead the company's HR function.
- Review, update, and improve existing HR processes and practices.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Create organized and compliant employee recordkeeping and filing systems.
- Recommend and lead initiatives that improve efficiency, consistency, and accountability across the organization.
- Partner with leadership to support business goals and workforce planning.
Recruiting & Employee Development
- Manage recruiting, hiring, and onboarding activities.
- Develop programs to support employee engagement, retention, and development.
- Assist supervisors with performance management and employee coaching.
- Identify training and leadership development opportunities.
Employee Relations, Accountability, & Compliance
- Serve as the primary resource for employee relations matters.
- Investigate and resolve workplace concerns professionally and fairly.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Maintain and update employee policies, procedures, and handbook content.
- Oversee leave administration, workers' compensation, and related HR programs.
- Coach and advise managers on employee and leadership issues.
- Promote accountability and consistency throughout the organization.
Benefits & Administration
- Administer employee benefits programs and vendor relationships.
- Support payroll processes and employee data management.
- Maintain accurate HR records and reporting.
- Monitor HR practices to ensure consistency and legal compliance.
Compensation:
- $70,000 - $85,000 annual salary - commensurate with experience.

Requirements:
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in manufacturing.
- Experience creating or improving business processes and procedures.
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and drive change within the organization.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is a strongly preferred.
