Overview
The New York Athletic Club, one of the world's premier private clubs and a global leader in the fitness and wellness space since its founding in 1868, seeks a Personal Training Manager. In this role, you will lead our personal training and group fitness initiatives to inspire and motivate members on their wellness journeys. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee the development of tailored fitness programs, foster a positive environment, and contribute to our longstanding tradition of excellence in the fitness and wellness industry. As a key leader, you will combine your expertise in physiology, anatomy, and sports coaching with your passion for teaching physical education to deliver exceptional service. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the personal training team, ensuring high-quality coaching and program delivery.
- Design innovative, effective fitness programs based on clients’ physiology, body mechanics, and individual goals.
- Conduct fitness assessments, including anatomy knowledge evaluations and body mechanics analysis, to personalize training plans.
- Promote group fitness classes and physical education sessions that motivate members and enhance their overall experience.
- Monitor member progress, provide ongoing support, and adjust programs to maximize results.
- Collaborate with staff to maintain a welcoming, energetic environment aligned with the NYAC’s standards.
Requirements
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience managing a fitness, wellness, or athletic facility
- Experience in a private club, hospitality, or service-oriented environment preferred
- Strong understanding of general fitness and recreational sports
- Personal Training Certification preferred
- Current CPR/AED certification required
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and select club events
Pay: $80,000.00 per year
