VPK Assistant Teacher — Monarch Children's Academy (Avalon Park / Waterford Lakes, Orlando)
$15–$17 per hour, based on credentials and experience. Monday–Friday daytime shifts, no nights, no weekends, paid holidays
About Monarch Children's Academy
Monarch Children's Academy is an APPLE-accredited preschool and VPK provider in the Avalon Park / Waterford Lakes area of East Orlando. We're an owner-operated school with 13 classrooms, five playgrounds, and around 215 students, using the Frog Street curriculum. We're looking for a VPK Assistant Teacher to support one of our VPK classrooms and help our four- and five-year-olds get genuinely ready for kindergarten.
What You'll Do
- Support the VPK lead teacher in delivering Frog Street curriculum lessons and small-group activities
- Help keep the classroom safe, organized, and welcoming
- Supervise children during centers, meals, playground time, and transitions
- Guide behavior using consistent, positive routines
- Share observations about children's progress with the lead teacher
- Greet families warmly at drop-off and pick-up
What We're Looking For
- Must be 18 or older
- Must pass a DCF Level 2 background screening
- DCF 45-hour training completed or in progress
- CDA or FCCPC (Florida Staff Credential) a plus
- Prior preschool, childcare, or daycare experience preferred
- Patience, warmth, and a genuine love for working with young children
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs and stay active — on the floor, on the playground, all day
