Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Barista to join our team in creating a welcoming café experience for our customers. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee beverages, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and providing exceptional customer service as well as preparing and serving a variety of sandwiches and food offerings. Your role will play a vital part in fostering a positive atmosphere that encourages repeat business and customer loyalty. WEEKENDS ARE MANDATORY FOR THIS POSITION.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and other beverages according to established recipes.
- Operate the cash register and handle cash transactions accurately, ensuring proper cash handling procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including equipment, utensils, and seating areas.
- Engage with customers to take orders, provide recommendations, and address any inquiries or concerns.
- Utilize basic math skills for accurate pricing and sales transactions.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service during peak hours.
- Uphold café standards for quality control and presentation of all beverages.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a café or retail environment is preferred but not required.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse clientele.
- Basic math skills for handling cash register operations and retail math calculations.
- Familiarity with POS systems is an advantage.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
- A passion for coffee and beverage preparation is highly desirable.
