Overview
At Sunline, safety is more than a checklist. It’s how we take care of our drivers, our equipment, and our reputation. We’re looking for someone who is curious, detail oriented, and ready to roll up their sleeves to keep our fleet compliant and our team on track.
The Safety and Compliance Coordinator works closely with drivers, maintenance staff, and dispatch to ensure everything from hours of service to equipment inspections are done by the book. If you’re the type who notices the little things, asks good questions, and can hold people accountable while building relationships, this could be your lane.
What You’ll Do
- Monitor compliance with FMCSA and DOT regulations
- Review ELD logs, DVIRs, and inspection reports
- Support internal audits of driver files and maintenance records
- Communicate with drivers and coach them on compliance issues
- Help manage roadside inspections and track follow ups
- Assist with safety training and company wide safety initiatives
Who You Are
- You are a strong communicator who isn’t afraid to ask follow up questions or sniff out what’s not being said
- You have a customer service mindset and want to help drivers succeed, not just catch mistakes
- You are naturally organized and detail focused
- You thrive in environments where every day is different and fast paced
- You are the kind of person who reads the room and adjusts your approach based on who you’re talking to
- You know how to follow up, follow through, and follow the rules
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree required
- Experience working with drivers, customers, or frontline employees (safety or compliance experience is a plus, but not required)
- Interest in learning DOT and FMCSA regulations and how they impact daily operations
- Ability to manage multiple moving pieces with accuracy and urgency
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) required
- Experience with ELD systems or transportation software is a bonus
