Position Title: CT / X-Ray Technologist
Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Employment Type: 13-Week Travel Contract (Potential for Extension / Permanent Placement)
Shift: Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Sun, Mon, Tue)
Compensation & Travel Perks
Travel Pay Package: UP TO $3000 Weekly Gross based on experience
Non-Taxed Allowance: $1,575 non-taxed stipend for qualifying travelers
Travel Reimbursement: Up to $350 each way ($700 total travel allowance)
Local Pay Package: UP TO $2700 Weekly Gross ($75/HR) based on experience
Position Summary
We are seeking a versatile and fast-paced dual-certified CT / X-Ray Technologist to join our team in Colorado Springs. This role is unique: in addition to performing standard imaging scans in a high-volume emergency environment, you will play a heavy role on the laboratory and clinical side-including starting IVs and processing lab specimens. We are looking for a true team player who adapts quickly, takes initiative, and is willing to step outside traditional job boundaries to ensure seamless patient care and facility operations.
Key Responsibilities
Imaging & Patient Care
Perform high-quality CT and X-Ray diagnostic imaging procedures in accordance with facility protocols and safety standards.
Ensure patient safety, comfort, and proper positioning throughout all procedures.
Maintain imaging equipment, perform routine quality checks, and escalate technical issues appropriately.
Laboratory & Clinical Operations
Successfully start IVs and assist with routine clinical preparation.
Collect and process patient specimens, including nasal/oral swabs, urine, blood, and stool samples.
Perform point-of-care and laboratory testing following established CLIA guidelines and safety protocols.
Operate and maintain lab equipment, including the Sysmex CBC analyzer, McKesson urinalysis analyzer, Abbott/Alere Triage Meter, and Piccolo chemistry analyzer.
Execute daily Quality Control (QC) procedures and troubleshoot basic laboratory equipment issues.
Operations & Team Collaboration
Document and report clinical data accurately within the EPOWERdoc Emergency Department Information System.
Collaborate closely with site leadership and ER clinical staff to maintain fast, efficient patient flow.
Pitch in with all daily operational duties-including light facility maintenance or taking out the trash-to support the team during peak volumes.
Required Qualifications
Certifications: Dual ARRT certification in Radiology (R) and Computed Tomography (CT).
Life Support: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association).
Experience: 1+ years of dual CT and X-Ray experience.
Clinical Skills: Demonstrated experience starting IVs and performing specimen collection/laboratory processing.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in an Emergency Room or urgent care setting.
Proficiency with the EPOWERdoc platform and automated laboratory analyzers.
Shift & Operational Notes
Schedule: Fixed 36-hour night shift block (Sun/Mon/Tue, 7 PM - 7 AM).
Overtime & Coverage: Frequent opportunities for Wednesday overtime; occasional gap coverage required.
Work Environment: Fast-paced emergency setup with a volume of ~12-17 patients per shift; daily duties shift heavily between imaging, IV placement, and laboratory testing based on patient need.
Dress Code: Dark Blue / Navy / Black scrubs.
