The Career Development & Life Coach is responsible in utilizing NYCM’s coaching model to implement and engage in effective coaching of employees alongside team leaders and managers. They coach employees to improve performance based on skill gaps, as well as improve and develop new and existing skill sets. They work directly with employees to determine right-fit in job roles, develop career paths, and inspire self-reflection. They will coach to NYCM’s North Star, mission, core values and leadership success profile.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual coaching sessions in person, via phone, or video conferencing.
- Discover, clarify, and align with what the employee wants to achieve by identifying their strengths, weaknesses, and aspirations.
- Encourage employee self-discovery.
- Elicit employee-generated solutions and strategies.
- Assist employees with identifying, clarifying, and creating individualized goals.
- Develop action plans to help employee achieve job-related goals.
- Hold the employee responsible and accountable.
- Assist with the development of coaching curriculum and coaching programs.
- Conduct employee development training.
- Build strong and trusting relationships with internal stakeholders including employees, managers and Employee Experience teammates.
- Develop and monitor survey results for feedback.
- Measure coaching and training metrics.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma, or equivalent, with related experience demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong customer focus; approachable, patient and empathetic.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential/sensitive information in a tactful and diplomatic manner.
- Ability to work independently and to effectively prioritize competing tasks from a variety of sources, adaptable and capable of navigating ambiguity.
- Independent thinker with sound judgment, who knows when to escalate issues.
- Basic knowledge of corporate structure and divisional roles and responsibilities.
- A growth mindset.
Market Range: 7 / 37.5 hours per week / Hybrid- 2 days in office
Salary: $49,082- $68,714
