About Jarfly
Jarfly is a neighborhood restaurant, bar, and live music venue located in Midtown Columbus, Georgia. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional hospitality, outstanding food and beverage experiences, and creating a welcoming environment for both guests and employees. We are seeking a driven, hands-on General Manager to lead our team, maintain operational excellence, and help continue the growth of one of Columbus' most established hospitality destinations.
Position Summary
The General Manager is the senior leader responsible for the overall success of Jarfly. This role serves as the bridge between ownership's vision and the day-to-day operation of the business. The GM is responsible for financial performance, team development, guest experience, facility management, and ensuring the highest standards of service throughout the restaurant and venue.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong restaurant management experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead by example in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities
Financial & Business Management
- Drive restaurant sales, profitability, and overall business performance
- Manage labor, food, and beverage costs to meet budget targets
- Analyze sales reports, labor reports, and financial performance metrics
- Develop strategies to increase revenue and improve operational efficiency
- Prepare and present performance reports to ownership
- Monitor inventory levels and purchasing practices
Team Leadership & Development
- Recruit, hire, train, coach, and develop restaurant staff
- Directly oversee department managers and key team leaders
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback
- Foster a positive, professional, and accountable workplace culture
- Ensure company policies and procedures are consistently followed
Operations & Guest Experience
- Maintain exceptional standards of hospitality and service
- Resolve guest concerns professionally and effectively
- Ensure smooth communication and collaboration between Front of House and Back of House teams
- Oversee daily operations, including opening, closing, and service execution
- Lead by example during peak service periods
Facility & Vendor Management
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and appearance of the facility
- Coordinate repairs and preventative maintenance programs
- Manage relationships with vendors and service providers
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations
Qualifications
Required
- 3+ years of restaurant management experience
- Proven experience leading teams in a high-volume hospitality environment
- Strong understanding of restaurant financials, labor management, and inventory controls
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Valid ServSafe Manager Certification (or ability to obtain)
Preferred
- Multi-unit or senior management experience
- Experience with live music venues, craft beverage programs, or high volume restaurants
- Familiarity with restaurant scheduling and POS systems
- Strong knowledge of food, wine, beer, and cocktail service
Schedule
- Minimum 45 hours per week
- Five-day workweek minimum
- Availability for nights, weekends, and special events required
- Flexible schedule based on business needs
