About Us
Our Lady of Providence is a Level III residential care home located on 2.5 acres in the heart of Winooski, VT. We provide comprehensive daily living and medical support, including hospice care. We are a small, warm, and supportive community focused on dignity, kindness, and teamwork.
Position Overview
Under the direction of the shift nurse, Care and Medication Assistants provide hands-on personal care and support to residents who are functionally, physically, or socially impaired. This role is essential to residents’ daily comfort, safety, and quality of life.
Average shift census: 40 residents. Each shift is staffed with one nurse, two medication assistants (except overnight), and three to four care assistants.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs):
- Bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility, and hygiene
- Provide medication assistance per training and delegation (Med Assistants)
- Support meals, companionship, and engagement
- Complete laundry and light housekeeping related to resident care
- Learn and follow individualized resident care plans
- Observe and report changes in resident condition to the nurse
- Document care accurately and follow facility policies
- Promote respectful, patient, and team-centered care
Shift Options
- Days: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Evenings: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
- Nights: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Full-time, 32-40 hours/week
Weekends
- Every other weekend required
- Option to arrange an alternative weekend schedule with a teammate
Compensation & Differentials
- Base Pay: $17.00–$22.00/hr
- Evening: +$1.50/hr
- Night: +$2.00/hr
- Weekend: +$0.50/hr
- Incentive bonuses available when eligible
