Field Service Technician -Boiler

Compensation: $40/hour target, flexible DOE; exceptional candidates may earn up to $55/hour
Schedule: Guaranteed 40 hours/week + optional overtime + local on-call rotation
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Boiler Field Service Technician to service commercial and industrial boiler-room equipment at customer locations throughout the area.
This is a hands-on field service position for someone who can independently troubleshoot, repair, maintain, start up, and commission boilers, burners, controls, and related mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, service, repair, and maintain commercial and industrial boilers.
- Diagnose and repair burners, combustion systems, electrical components, controls, and instrumentation.
- Service hydronic, high- and low-pressure steam, firetube, and watertube boiler systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance and emergency service.
- Complete factory equipment startups and commissioning.
- Perform combustion analysis and burner tuning.
- Use electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to diagnose problems.
- Prepare accurate technical service reports.
- Communicate professionally with customers and explain recommended repairs.
- Provide excellent customer service at commercial and industrial facilities.
- Assist with training and mentoring junior technicians.
- Participate in the local on-call rotation.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience servicing commercial or industrial boilers.
- Previous field troubleshooting, service, repair, or maintenance experience.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting ability.
- Working knowledge of electrical systems and controls.
- Experience with commercial burners, combustion systems, steam, hydronic boilers, or related boiler-room equipment.
- Ability to independently diagnose and repair equipment.
- Strong customer-service and communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Willingness to participate in a local on-call rotation.

- Plumbing Technician with direct commercial boiler-room experience
Technical-school education in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, heating, or related fields is a plus.
