Duties
- Assist with food preparation by chopping, slicing, and assembling ingredients following established recipes and safety guidelines
- Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, slicers, ovens, and refrigerators safely and effectively
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen tools to meet sanitation standards
- Support the culinary team in meal assembly and portioning to ensure consistency and quality
- Follow food safety protocols for handling, storing, and labeling ingredients to prevent contamination
- Aid in inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying supervisors of stock levels or shortages
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and smooth workflow during busy service hours
Skills
- Previous experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of food handling safety standards and food safety management practices
- Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation techniques
- Proficiency in operating kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, ovens, and knives with excellent knife skills and slicing techniques
- Ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks efficiently
- Familiarity with restaurant or food industry environments enhances your adaptability in a fast-paced setting
- Demonstrated cleaning skills to uphold hygiene standards in all areas of food prep and storage
- Knowledge of catering processes and experience supporting large-scale meal service is a plus
