What You’ll Do (Responsibilities):
- Perform high-quality structural welding on heavy steel beams, columns, trusses, and custom fabrications.
- Primary welding process will be FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding / Dual Shield) in multiple positions.
- Participate in our mandatory team stretching program at the start of every shift to keep the crew safe, flexible, and injury-free.
- Read, interpret, and work directly from blueprints, welding symbols, and shop drawings.
- Safely operate overhead cranes, hoists, and material handling equipment to position large steel structures.
- Inspect your own work to ensure it meets strict quality control and AWS standards.
What We’re Looking For (Qualifications):
- Testing Requirement: Must be able to successfully pass a hands-on structural weld test prior to formal hire.
- Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of structural steel welding experience in a heavy fabrication shop or industrial environment.
- Process Mastery: Highly proficient in FCAW (Flux-Cored); solid skills in GMAW (MIG) or SMAW (Stick) are a strong plus.
- Certifications: Ability to pass a structural weld test (AWS 2G, 3G, 4G certifications preferred).
- Skills: Strong blueprint reading skills and the ability to layout work independently.
- Physical Requirements: Commitment to daily shift stretching; ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work comfortably in a heavy industrial shop environment.
Pay: Up to $28.00 per hour
