Responsibilities
- Install and test fiber optic cables using specialized tools and techniques to ensure optimal connectivity.
- Set up and configure network equipment, and telephony systems to support client networks.
- Perform, troubleshooting, and repairs on existing telecommunication in the home.
- Use hand tools such as cable strippers, crimpers, and ohmmeters to accurately measure light and radio frequencies and diagnose issues.
- Assist with cable routing, mechanical installation, and securing low voltage wiring in various environments.
- Conduct site surveys to assess existing cabling infrastructure and determine installation requirements.
- Document all work performed accurately in service reports while adhering to safety standards and protocols.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a service technician or field technician in telecommunications or related fields.
- knowledge of fiber stripping techniques and network installation procedures.
- Prefer Familiarity with Ethernet networking, telephony systems, and computer networking fundamentals.
- MUST possess the ability to operate hand tools effectively and safely in diverse environments.
- Mechanical knowledge related to cable management, conduit installation, and low voltage wiring.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to customer service and technical challenges.
- CLEAN criminal background absolutely NO FELONY convictions or misdemeanors
- MUST be able to pass extensive drug and background tests
- Valid driver’s license with a CLEAN driving record; willingness to travel within Wilson and surrounding regions.
- MUST be capable of lifting and carrying 28 ft extension ladder
- MUST be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs
- MUST possess SUV, Truck, or vehicle capable of supporting 28ft extension ladder, tools, and equipment necessary for job performance
