Greet and welcome members courteously, professionally, and promptly while providing efficient, accurate member service.
Accept share drafts, checks, and cash for deposit; verify amounts; confirm proper endorsements; and accurately record deposits in the system.
Process account withdrawals and share draft/check cashing transactions, verify amounts, and accurately enter withdrawals in the system. Cash share drafts and checks from various accounts after proper verification and in accordance with credit union policies and procedures.
Place holds on checks as required.
Maintain a balanced cash drawer throughout the day, research and resolve discrepancies, and report any out-of-balance situations to the Senior Teller and Branch Manager.
Maintain current, comprehensive knowledge of credit union products and services handled or promoted by tellers, as well as related teller policies, procedures, rules, and regulations, including robbery procedures, the Bank Secrecy Act, and the Patriot Act.
Promote, explain, and cross-sell credit union products and services, including consumer loans, mortgage loans, IRAs, CDs, debit and credit cards, online banking, money orders, and other available promotional products.
Handle member requests for transfers, withdrawals, deposits, check requests, CD transactions, and other services.
Maintain working knowledge of computers and software applications, and operate online terminals according to data processor specifications.
Open new member accounts and update existing accounts in accordance with established guidelines. Set up new account files and provide members with all required paperwork and membership disclosures.
Answer incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate person or department. Prior cash-handling experience is required.
