We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist/Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team! In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment while managing essential administrative tasks. Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, creating a positive first impression
- Schedule appointments using various EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks
- Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility and verification processes
- Manage patient check-in and check-out procedures efficiently
- Handle multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately
- Collect and process payments, including medical collections and billing procedures
- Maintain accurate medical records, ensuring proper documentation review and data entry in EMR systems
- Assist with medical coding tasks such as CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), and ICD coding to support billing accuracy
- Support clinic operations by managing appointment scheduling, cancellations, and follow-up reminders
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information and health data confidentiality
- Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers to coordinate care plans and follow-up appointments
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical administrative support role within a clinical setting.
- Must be a Certified Medical Assistant.
- Strong knowledge of EMR systems such as eClinical Works, Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar platforms
- Familiarity with medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, ICD coding standards, and medical billing practices
- Experience with insurance verification processes and Medicare procedures
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and health information management software
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly and professionally
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy office environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills with experience in filing, documentation review, and office management procedures
- Bilingual ability is required (Spanish)
- Prior clinic or hospital experience is preferred; dental clinic experience is a plus

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
