Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to emergency calls and arrive swiftly at the scene of accidents or medical incidents.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations.
- Provide advanced airway management and administer medications or injections as authorized and necessary for patient stabilization.
- Utilize critical care techniques such as venipuncture, DME (Durable Medical Equipment) handling, and aseptic procedures to support patient needs.
- Operate emergency vehicles safely, demonstrating proficient driving skills while managing heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks.
- Collaborate with hospital staff and emergency room teams during critical care transport, ensuring seamless communication and transfer of patient information.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care reports, vital signs, medical interventions, and incident details following strict protocols.
Qualifications
- Valid EMT certification with current licensure recognized by state or local authorities.
- Proven experience in emergency medicine or urgent care settings, including hospital or ER experience.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and vital sign interpretation.
- Experience with airway management techniques and critical care transport procedures.
- Ability to perform physical examinations, venipuncture, medication administration, and injection procedures confidently.
- Familiarity with triage protocols and Level I or Level II trauma center operations is highly desirable.
- Excellent patient care skills combined with the ability to remain calm under pressure in high-stakes situations.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; capable of heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks required in emergency scenarios.
