We are seeking an experienced Residential Landscape Construction Project Manager to lead high-quality residential landscape installation projects from contract award through final walkthrough. This role is responsible for delivering an outstanding customer experience while ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
Position Summary
The Residential Landscape Construction Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing residential landscape construction projects. This position oversees project schedules, field operations, customer communication, subcontractors, purchasing, budgets, and project quality from start to finish.
The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple projects while building trust with homeowners and supporting field teams.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Manage multiple residential landscape construction projects from contract award through final completion.
- Develop project schedules and coordinate labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
- Conduct project kickoff meetings with homeowners and internal teams.
- Monitor project progress and adjust schedules as needed.
- Anticipate and resolve issues before they impact quality, budget, or schedule.
- Ensure projects are completed on time and according to contract requirements.
Customer Experience
- Serve as the primary point of contact for homeowners throughout the project.
- Maintain regular communication regarding project schedules, progress, and any changes.
- Respond promptly to customer questions and concerns.
- Build trust through professionalism, transparency, and follow-through.
- Conduct final walkthroughs and ensure customer satisfaction before project closeout.
Financial Management
- Manage project budgets and profitability.
- Review job costs and production reports regularly.
- Forecast labor and material needs.
- Approve purchasing as needed.
- Identify and document change orders, ensuring they are communicated, approved, and billed promptly.
- Review project financial performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.
Field Leadership
- Support field supervisors and crew leaders throughout each project.
- Coordinate daily with field personnel to keep projects moving efficiently.
- Conduct regular jobsite visits.
- Help remove obstacles that impact production or customer satisfaction.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and clear communication.
Quality & Safety
- Ensure all work meets company quality standards and customer expectations.
- Verify installations are completed according to plans and specifications.
- Support company safety policies and jobsite compliance.
- Coordinate punch list items, warranty work, and final project closeout.
- Promote a culture of quality workmanship and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Three or more years of experience managing residential landscape construction projects or similar construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of landscape installation practices, irrigation, grading, hardscape, and planting.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Aspire construction management software.
- Experience reading landscape plans and construction drawings.
- Experience managing subcontractors and project schedules.
- Knowledge of estimating, job costing, and project budgeting.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
