Hours: Part Time (Weekend and Open Availability Required)
Compensation: $17.77/hour

Position Summary:
Assists with Kitchen/Bakery production including but not limited to, ordering and stocking ingredients and supplies; preparation, storage and transfer of product; and routine cleaning of equipment and facility. Must be able to be highly productive in a fast-paced work environment and function as a cooperative team member.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to work safely and efficiently at a high pace
Ability to work and communicate as part of a team
Must be at least 18 years of age, to use kitchen equipment
Ability to safely operate all kitchen machinery, including, but not limited to: cheese/meat slicer, food processor, industrial mixer, knives, ovens, and stoves.
Must possess a current Food Handler’s card
Familiarity with ingredients used in Co-op kitchen products, preferred
Ability to communicate clearly, follow directions, make positive suggestions, and be open to instruction
Previous production kitchen experience required
Knife skills and basic cooking skills required
Knowledge of basic kitchen procedures, especially safety
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced production environment
Ability to quickly learn how to prepare new menu items
Ability to lift 50# repeatedly
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Food Preparation:
Prep, stage and store ingredients according to procedure.
Prepare recipes accurately and consistently.
Recognize and handle ingredients in accordance with common Food Handler’s Guidelines.
Follow daily production schedule.
Assist with special orders and catering, as assigned, ensuring menu items meet quality standards and are delivered on time.
General Kitchen Work:
Order, receive, stock and store all materials according to procedure.
Maintain a clean, safe work area by frequently cleaning all equipment, including but not limited to work space, coolers, utensils, cutting boards, etc.
Complete assigned duties throughout the day with the highest level of efficiency possible.
Regularly check pull dates of all Co-op kitchen product/ingredient items and dispose properly of any items that are past pull.
Accurately record product/ingredient items that are to be written off.
Transport finished Co-op kitchen menu items from kitchen to deli area as needed.
Safely pack and store any products for transfer to the North store location according to procedure, assisting the Transfer Driver as needed.
Thoroughly clean workstation and dishes, putting all food and equipment away at the end of each shift.
Communicate inventory levels to facilitate accurate and timely ordering.
Sub for Dishwasher, as needed.
Take on additional tasks, as assigned by supervisor or Bakery or Kitchen Lead.
