AMC Electrical is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Site Safety Coordinator to support our Construction Managers and field teams in maintaining safe, compliant, and productive project sites.
This role supports the Construction Manager by advising on health and safety requirements for active project sites. The Site Safety Coordinator supports monitoring compliance with regulatory standards, company policies, and client-specific safety programs, while identifying potential hazards and safety risks. Working closely with the Construction Manager, Foremen, subcontractors, and field personnel, the Safety Coordinator observes site activities, provides guidance and recommendations, and reports safety concerns to support informed decision-making and the promotion of a strong safety culture.
Responsibilities
- Support implementation of project-specific safety plans, company health and safety policies, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections, safety observations, and hazard assessments to identify and mitigate workplace risks.
- Review and support Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRAs), Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), permits, and other safety documentation.
- Monitor construction activities and provide guidance on safe work practices and hazard controls.
- Lead incident, injury, and near-miss investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
- Prepare and maintain safety reports, records, metrics, and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate site safety orientations, onboarding, training, and competency tracking for employees, visitors, and subcontractors.
- Verify subcontractor compliance with safety requirements, training certifications, PPE standards, and specific site rules.
- Facilitate toolbox talks, safety meetings, briefings, and ongoing safety awareness initiatives.
- Support internal audits, regulatory inspections, client site visits, and emergency preparedness activities.
- Collaborate with Construction Managers, Project Coordinators, subcontractors, and field personnel to promote a proactive safety culture.
- Identify trends, recurring risks, and opportunities for continuous improvement in safety performance and incident prevention
Qualifications
Required
- 3+ years of industrial construction safety experience.
- Knowledge of OSHA and applicable construction safety regulations.
- Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital reporting systems.
- Ability to work independently in active construction environments.
Preferred
- Diploma, certificate, or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- First Aid/CPR certification
- Experience working with commercial, industrial, or multi-site construction projects.
- Experience supporting subcontractor compliance programs.
