Oregon Physics develops and markets advanced ion and electron beam products for scientific and industrial applications. We are an innovative and fast growing company with exciting opportunities for career development. Oregon Physics currently has 18 employees but expects to grow to 25 employees in the next two years. Our employees get to work on state of the art products that are transforming industries. We work with a number of advanced technologies including ultrahigh vacuum systems, charged particle optical systems, plasma systems, RF systems and precise motion systems. We are looking for a talented and experienced individual to provide mainly in-house service on a variety of FIB tool, SEMs, and custom instruments. Occasion field support may be required.
Oregon Physics is looking for a full-time employee whose responsibilities will be to:
· Maintain and service a variety of focused ion beam and scanning electron microscopes. Oregon Physics currently has a plasma FIB- LMIS FIB dual beam, single beam LMIS FIB, and FE-SEM. Oregon Physics will have two new tools installed in 2025.
· Maintain and service custom ion and electron instrumentation.
· Perform basic maintenance and trouble-shooting of FIB and SEM systems to maintain high system availability.
· Maintain and service a variety of technology including vacuum systems, ion sources, heat exchange units, RF power supplies, high voltage power supplies, pressurized gas systems, motion systems, and beam control electronics.
· Coordinate and assist with system upgrades to improve tool capability.
· Support R&D projects to develop new FIB technology and applications.
· Occasional international travel to support customer systems.
Position Requirements:
· Undergraduate technical degree in science, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, other relevant technical program, or technical military experience.
· Five or more years service experience with focused ion beam systems or dual beam systems.
· Experience aligning and maintaining FIB systems.
· High level of attention to detail on work processes.
· Strong understanding of focused ion beam systems and technology.
· Current passport for international travel
Preferred Experience:
· Ten years experience servicing FIB tools.
· Experience with ion and electron microscopy in a commercial environment.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $99,000.00 per year
