Job Overview
Hardeeville Metal Recycling is seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various driving environments, including dump trailers, roll-off trucks, and flatbeds. This role involves transporting scrap metal safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. Driver will be using a 2024 389 Peterbilt day cab manual and can be based out of Sylvania, GA or Hardeeville, SC with daily routes, home every night. Regional area includes South Georgia as well as Southern and Central South Carolina.
Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles, including dump trailers, roll-off trucks, and flatbeds, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage and fuel consumption.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered on the road.
- Adhere to company policies regarding safety practices and procedures at all times.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role within commercial driving.
- Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles is required.
- Experience with route driving and knowledge of local roadways is advantageous.
- Prior experience handling various types of freight is a plus.
- A valid commercial driver's license (CDL) is required for this position.
