The Head of Housekeeping is responsible for leading the housekeeping department to ensure guest rooms and public areas consistently meet the hotel's cleanliness and quality standards. This position supervises housekeeping staff, oversees laundry operations, maintains inventory, and works closely with management to provide an exceptional guest experience.
- Train and coach housekeeping staff on proper cleaning procedures, laundry operations, safety practices, and company standards.
- Supervise the daily cleaning of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas.
- Perform daily inspections of vacant, occupied, and public areas to ensure quality standards are met.
- Lead by example through professionalism, teamwork, and excellent communication.
- Maintain accurate housekeeping records and complete required reports.
- Assist with inventory management and order housekeeping and laundry supplies.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety procedures, and OSHA guidelines.
- Participate in interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, discipline, and termination of housekeeping employees with management approval.
- Schedule housekeeping staff based on occupancy and operational needs.
- Conduct daily housekeeping meetings and assign work responsibilities.
- Supervise all housekeeping and laundry employees.
- Maintain housekeeping equipment and report maintenance issues promptly.
- Ensure preventative maintenance concerns are reported to the maintenance department.
- Report employee injuries, accidents, and safety concerns immediately.
- Monitor labor costs while maintaining quality and productivity standards.
- Maintain adequate stock levels of linens, guest supplies, and cleaning products.
- Manage the Lost & Found program according to company policy.
- Reconcile housekeeping reports with the Front Desk at the end of each shift.
- Oversee the cleanliness of all interior and exterior public areas.
- Coordinate deep cleaning schedules and seasonal cleaning projects.
- Assist housekeeping staff by cleaning guest rooms when necessary.
- Work closely with the Front Desk and Maintenance departments to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Respond professionally to guest requests and resolve housekeeping concerns promptly.
- Ensure all rooms meet brand standards before being released for guest occupancy.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager.

- Lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Use housekeeping equipment, carts, vacuums, and cleaning tools safely.
