POSITION GOAL
To provide technical services that create a safe environment for all students and employees of Volusia County Schools
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. *Work hours and locations will change as the need arises. Perform all duties according to scheduled hours and locations as assigned.
2. *Assure the safety of children comes first.
3. *Abide by all security procedures.
4. *Represent Volusia County School Board (VCSB) and the Department with a positive and professional service oriented demeanor.
5. *Work as part of a team by establishing and maintaining working relationships that foster efficiency, productivity, quality results, and promotes cooperation with administrators, fellow employees, students, faculty and the public.
6. *Perform work in accordance with the National Electrical Code
7. *Review sites and create material and labor estimates.
8. *Build and wire new electrical services for portable classrooms and other facilities.
9. *Remove, replace, and install electrical components (ballast, receptacles, switches, relays, contactor, transformers).
10. *Work with control wring on motor starters, air conditioning, chillers.
11. *Work with various voltages up to 480 volts AC.
12. *Work with large main switchgear from 3000 amps up.
13. *Perform infrared preventive maintenance on electrical equipment.
14. *Calculate loads on projects and equipment, and determine all wiring and materials needed to complete the project.
15. *Maintain accurate truck inventory and all related list/ forms for each job as needed for maintenance operations.
16. *Assist in the assessment, planning and implementation of preventive maintenance procedures.
17. *Communicate verbally and in writing as assigned.
18. *Check and maintain assigned equipment on a daily basis.
19. *Report any damage/dangerous or hazardous situations related to work orders, equipment or vehicles to supervisor.
20. *Maintain a clean orderly work environment, which includes the service truck and all equipment.
21. *Perform various duties from a ladder, high lift, bucket truck or scaffold.
22. *Abide by safety rules/ standards when using tools and equipment, which includes wearing required safety equipment and compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) requirements.
23. *Wear provided designated departmental uniform.
24. *Attend and/ or conduct cross training sessions with others in the Division and apply skills/knowledge obtained.
25. *Respond during times of disaster/ emergency, as the need arises, including evenings and weekends.
26. *Perform effectively in emergency situations.
27. *Operate school board vehicles, when assigned, in accordance with operational procedures and School Board Policy 505.
28. *Provide personal tools as required, to perform assigned work.
29. *Perform other related duties as assigned by the Supervisors, Multi-Trades
