Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Journeyman Electrician with a strong commercial, industrial, and solar background to join our team. This role requires an electrician who can work independently, interpret complex electrical documentation, mentor junior team members, and deliver high‑quality work in fast‑paced construction environments. Experience with utility‑scale solar, heavy conduit work, terminations, and leadership responsibilities is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, and commission electrical equipment including inverters, transformers, switchgear, disconnects, combiner boxes, and panelboards.
- Perform AC and DC underground/overhead conduit runs (IMC, RMC, PVC, LFMC) with precision and per NEC requirements.
- Interpret complex schematics, single‑line diagrams, engineering drawings, tracker layouts, and site electrical plans.
- Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and verification using multimeters, insulation testers, and torque tools.
- Lead or support crews in wire management, racking bonding, grounding, wire pulls, and torquing tasks.
- Work safely and efficiently around medium‑voltage equipment and solar infrastructure (if applicable).
- Ensure all installs meet NEC, AHJ, utility, and internal QA/QC standards.
- Document daily work activities, materials used, and inspection checkpoints.
- Collaborate with site leadership, project managers, and other trades to maintain schedule and productivity.
Required Experience
- 4–10+ years as a commercial/industrial journeyman electrician.
- Strong conduit experience: IMC, RMC, EMT, and underground installation.
- Extensive terminations experience (AC/DC, inverters, disconnects, transformers, panelboards).
- Ability to diagnose system faults, ring out conductors, and verify polarity/continuity
- Proficiency reading and understanding complex electrical drawings, SLDs, and schematics.
- Experience working safely around high‑voltage (277V–480V) equipment.
- Strong understanding of NEC and applicable code requirements.
- Ability to work independently or lead small teams when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- Utility‑scale solar or commercial solar experience (tracker systems, inverters, combiner boxes).
- Medium‑voltage experience (underground terminations, gear installation, testing).
- Experience operating equipment such as skid steers, telehandlers, and forklifts.
- QA/QC experience or familiarity with commissioning processes.
- OSHA‑10/30, NFPA 70E, CPR/First Aid.
- Additional mechanical or construction experience is a plus.
