We are looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our growing heavy duty repair shop. This position is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining semi trucks and semi trailers. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical skills, can work independently, and takes pride in delivering quality repairs while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on semi trucks and semi trailers.
- Diagnose and repair air brake systems, including brake shoes, brake drums, S cams, slack adjusters, brake chambers, air cans, air valves, air lines, and ABS components.
- Repair wheel end components including wheel seals, wheel bearings, hubs, bearing adjustments, and proper torque procedures.
- Inspect and repair suspension components including leaf springs, air ride suspension, shocks, torque arms, and bushings.
- Diagnose and repair basic trailer and truck electrical issues.
- Perform preventative maintenance services and DOT inspections.
- Help with roadside service calls when needed.
- Accurately document inspections, repairs, and parts used.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a diesel mechanic.
- Experience working on semi trucks and semi trailers.
- Basic electrical and mechanical diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must have your own basic mechanic tools.
- Valid driver's license required.
- CDL is a plus but not required.
