Job Description
Weld together components as specified by blueprints, diagrams, or oral instructions using gas metal arc welding equipment.
Responsibilities:
· Operate Safety Equipment and use safe work habits.
· Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
· Ignite torches, start power supplies, and strike arcs by touching electrodes to metals being worked, completing electrical circuits.
· Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt components to obtain the required configurations and positions for welding.
· Detect faulty equipment or materials and notify supervisors.
· Operate manual welding equipment to fuse metal segments using gas metal arc or plasma arc welding processes.
· Examine and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
· Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.
· Lay out, positions, align, and secure parts and assemblies using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers.
· Understand and construct product based on engineering drawings and models.
· Review outsourced material in compliance with drawings.
· Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
· High School Graduate or Equivalent
· 1-3 Years MIG welding experience or welding certification or Diploma
· Ability to read blueprints
· Physically able to lift 50 pounds and ability to stand 8-10 hours
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
