Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver and take charge of delivering freight across diverse routes with energy and precision! In this role, you will operate tractor-trailers and specialized vehicles such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and roll-off trucks to ensure timely and safe deliveries. Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and dump trucks, on long-distance OTR routes or local deliveries.
- Navigate efficiently using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries across assigned routes.
- Load and unload freight manually or with equipment such as forklifts, ensuring proper handling of logistics cargo while complying with safety standards.
- Transport hazardous materials and dangerous goods in accordance with Hazmat regulations and hazard communication protocols.
- Maintain compliance with FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, and hazardous materials regulations throughout all operations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
- Document delivery activities accurately, including logs for load & unload times, route details, and cargo manifests.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues promptly.
- Ensure all truck loading and unloading procedures are performed safely and efficiently while adhering to manual handling best practices.
- Perform routine checks on refrigeration units when transporting temperature-sensitive freight to guarantee product integrity.
- Follow all safety protocols related to truck driving, hazardous materials handling, and vehicle operation to maintain a safe work environment.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid CDL A license.
- Demonstrated ability to operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission or automatic options.
- Experience handling refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or roll-off trucks preferred.
- Knowledge of logistics cargo handling techniques for freight transportation across various vehicle types.
- Familiarity with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, and hazardous materials regulations is essential.
- Prior delivery driver experience involving route driving on OTR routes is highly desirable.
- Ability to manually handle heavy cargo safely using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or other lifting devices when necessary.
