Responsibilities
- Collect blood samples via venipuncture and capillary puncture using aseptic technique to ensure specimen integrity
- Prepare and label specimens accurately for laboratory testing, adhering to all safety and quality standards
- Obtain vital signs and assess patient physiology to ensure comfort and safety during procedures
- Maintain detailed documentation of procedures, patient information, and specimen handling in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
- Provide excellent patient service by explaining procedures clearly, addressing concerns, and ensuring a positive experience
- Follow laboratory procedures and techniques for specimen collection, processing, and transportation to guarantee reliable results
- Assist with patient care activities for diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, and hospital inpatients or outpatients
Requirements
- Proven laboratory experience with knowledge of laboratory procedures, techniques, and specimen collection methods
- Certification or training in phlebotomy, with proficiency in venipuncture and blood sampling techniques
- Basic life support (BLS) certification; CPR certification preferred
- Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, physiology principles, and clinical laboratory practices
- Prior hospital or healthcare facility experience is highly desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and stand for extended periods during procedures
- Strong data entry skills with experience using EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation
- Excellent customer service skills with a compassionate approach to patient care
- Knowledge of aseptic technique to prevent contamination during specimen handling

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
