JOB
Under limited supervision, the Application Developer IV serves as a senior technical expert responsible for leading the analysis, design, development, and enterprise-level modification of complex software systems that support agency operations. This position requires proficiency in object-oriented programming, T-SQL, web applications, API services, scripting languages, and source control tools such as TFS/DevOps. Experience with cloud-based platforms and web services integration will also be applied. Duties include interpreting, developing, debugging, and testing software applications as well as using UI frameworks like MudBlazor and/or DevExpress, and modern UI/UX principles. This role ensures the reliability, security, and modernization of mission-critical applications—including custom and COTS solutions—while aligning with the agency’s strategic IT goals. The role also includes oversight of web services, cloud-based integrations, and related technologies that support internal and external system communication. The position collaborates with ITS leadership to implement long-term development strategies, adopt emerging technologies, and guide the full software development lifecycle across teams.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related area and 6 years of experience in computer system development and modification. Relevant experience may substitute for the bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.
