Journeyman Sign Installer — Job Description
Install Nation is looking for Omaha Licensed
Key Responsibilities
- Installation & Maintenance: Install and service signs in commercial, industrial, and residential settings, ensuring they meet client specifications for size, material, and design.
- Site Preparation: Remove old signage, prepare surfaces or structures, and connect electrical components for illuminated or digital signs.
- Measurement & Layout: Measure, mark, and position signs accurately, ensuring they are level, clean, and securely mounted. FIELD TEST REQUIRED
- Electrical Work: Wire illuminated and digital signs according to safety and code standards. - MUST HVE BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF 120/240 PRIMARY WIRING. FIELD TEST REQUIRED
- Heavy Equipment Operation: Operate cranes, aerial lifts, and other heavy equipment to position and secure large signs.- NCCCO-TLL CERT A PLUS
- Welding & Assembly: Perform welding tasks (e.g., 3G-SMAW, 5F-FCAW) to assemble sign structures.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, use proper PPE, and maintain a secure work environment.
- Customer Interaction: Communicate with clients and team members to ensure satisfaction and meet deadlines. IVR check in out digitally per customer requirements per job. Obtain sign off sheets as required.
- Equipment Care: Inspect, maintain, and clean tools and equipment regularly.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED
- Licenses & Certifications:*** Omaha journeyman sign installer license required*** , welding certification (preferred), NCCCO Crane Certification (PERFERED)
- Experience: Minimum 2–5 years of sign installation or related construction experience.
- Driver’s License: Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL Class A or B) with a clean record.
- Skills: Proficiency with hand and power tools, ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings, knowledge of NEC electrical codes, LED lighting, and signaling systems SimplyHired.
- Physical Fitness: Able to lift, climb, and work at heights; comfortable in harsh weather.
- Work Schedule: 7am - 4:30 typical. some overtime required. Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and on-call. Require to be able to up to 5 days out of town. rare, but does happen.
Typical Work Environment
- Outdoor, often in varied weather conditions.
- May involve working at heights, on scaffolding, or with heavy equipment.
- Travel to multiple job sites.
This job will require the use of digital technology to view work order, view drawings, upload photos, etc.
All employees are required to provide their own handtools: List will be provided upon hire.
Pay: $28.00 - $40.00 per hour
