Position Overview:
As a HVAC Specialist for Northwest Pipe, you will be responsible for maximizing sales by focusing on direct sales to high profile dealers, contractors, builders while establishing new relationships within your market area with the established sales policies and procedures of Northwest Pipe Fittings, Inc.
To contribute to the company sales and marketing programs through implementing corporate strategy, organizational goals and department procedures. To cooperate with all team members in promoting the highest quality customer relations.
This is an on-site role with limited travel required (25%) to meet customers, provide and attend presentations and training, and generate new customers within your assigned area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Expand market share within the HVAC industry
- Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with HVAC contractors, mechanical contractors and potential customers through face-to-face meetings, emails and phone conversations.
- Generate interest in Northwest Pipe products to increase sales within the assigned area.
- Identify new business opportunities through networking, cold callings and prospecting.
- Educate customers on Northwest Pipe products through presentations, meetings, training and application discussions.
- Provide technical support to troubleshooting and propose viable solutions to customer challenges.
- Develop strategies for tracking and winning HVAC projects, both commercial and residential, by influencing specifications and coordination bid proposals.
- Work with counter sales teams to ensure they are properly educated and trained on the products they will deal with day in and day to provide the best service for our customers.
- Prepare bids and quotations and follow up with customers on any open opportunities while closing the sale.
- Identify and track project opportunities and sales progress while meeting quotas and goals set by the department manager.
- Maintain accurate records of all sales meetings, opportunities, and customer interactions.
- Shall cooperate with plumbing and HVAC department manager in accepting all training on product knowledge and sales promotion where and whenever necessary to improve sales skills and abilities
- Remain flexible to comply with variable work schedule and assignments to meet operating needs of the department, including but not limited to assisting with city desk/customer calls
- Personal habits, clothing and grooming shall be appropriate in nature for the job and personal contact with customers and general public, business casual.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in the HVAC industry.
- HVAC Field Experience
- Ability to read plans and wiring schematics
- 1 year of experience in sales a plus but not required.
- Knowledge of HVAC equipment and products
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
- Professional sales and persuasive communication skills evident in both one-on-one and group presentations, including email and phone.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated mindset with the ability to work independently and within a team setting.
- Passion for customer service, resolving customer problems and driving sales success.
- Valid driver’s license and personal automobile.
- Ability to lift over 50 pounds
- Must meet Northwest Pipe’s driver policy, including maintenance of required auto liability insurance.
