Family Assistant / Nanny (Older Children) – Bethesda, MD
$30/hour | 26–30 Guaranteed Hours per Week | Potential Long-Term Opportunity
Crafty Guardian is seeking a dependable, proactive, and professional Family Assistant/Nanny to support a warm and busy family in Bethesda, MD. This position begins in late August and is anticipated to continue through January 2027, with the potential to become long-term.
This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced caregiver who enjoys working with older children, values building long-term relationships, and is comfortable managing an after-school routine independently.
Schedule
- Monday–Thursday: Approximately 1:00–6:00 PM, 2:00–7:00 PM, or 2:00–8:00 PM (flexible)
- Friday: Approximately 4 hours (early school dismissal)
- 26–30 guaranteed hours per week
About the Family
- Three children (ages 17, 15, and 13)
- The oldest child is largely independent and drives
- Two friendly Boxer dogs
- Professional, respectful household
Responsibilities
- School pick-up and transportation to extracurricular activities
- Prepare healthy after-school meals and snacks
- Children's laundry
- Walk and care for the family's two Boxer dogs
- Help keep the children's belongings and common areas organized
- Support a positive, structured, and engaging after-school environment
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of professional nanny or family assistant experience
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Comfortable driving a manual transmission vehicle (family vehicle provided)
- CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to obtain before starting)
- Comfortable around dogs
- Reliable, organized, proactive, and professional
- Authorized to work in the United States
Compensation & Benefits
- $30/hour
- 26–30 guaranteed hours per week

- Occasional overnight care opportunities may be available when parents travel for work (with advance notice)
