Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Plumber to join our dynamic construction and maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems across residential, commercial, and industrial sites. Your expertise will ensure that plumbing installations comply with local building codes and safety regulations, delivering reliable solutions that meet client expectations. Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems including pipes, fixtures, gas piping systems, and drainage in accordance with blueprints, schematics, and construction plans.
- Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, and blueprints to accurately execute plumbing layouts.
- Use hand tools, power tools, pipe threading equipment, and welding techniques to complete installations and repairs efficiently.
- Ensure all work adheres to local building codes, plumbing building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards for quality assurance.
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on existing plumbing systems to prevent failures and extend system lifespan.
- Collaborate with construction teams, carpenters, heavy equipment operators, and field service personnel to coordinate project timelines and logistics.
- Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely on construction sites while maintaining a focus on safety regulations at all times.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including service reports and compliance records.
- Operate commercial driving vehicles as needed for material transport or site visits.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns professionally during installation or repair processes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Journeyman Plumber with a strong background in construction plumbing, residential plumbing, and commercial plumbing projects.
- Demonstrated knowledge of plumbing system maintenance and repair techniques across various settings.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, construction plans, and schematics related to plumbing systems.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, pipe threading machines, welding equipment, and carpentry basics.
- Familiarity with local building codes including plumbing building codes and gas piping regulations.
- Experience working on construction sites with adherence to safety regulations; OSHA certification is a plus.
- Strong understanding of pipe installation methods including pipe fitting, assembly, remodeling projects, and pipe threading.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to pipe sizing and layout design.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service; ability to work collaboratively within teams.
- Valid driver’s license with commercial driving experience preferred; ability to perform heavy lifting safely required.
