Duties
- Efficiently wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen tools using proper food safety sanitizing procedures
- Operate dishwashing and kitchen equipment safely and effectively, adhering to all health and safety standards
- Handle manual tasks such as lifting heavy pots or crates with proper technique to prevent injury
- Maintain sanitation standards by regularly cleaning dishwashing stations and kitchen surfaces
- Support food handling procedures in accordance with food safety management practices to ensure hygiene and quality
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is key!
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation standards in a commercial kitchen setting
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Familiarity with operating basic kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, sinks, and cleaning tools
- Strong attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout shifts
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting the culinary staff
- Basic understanding of kitchen health and safety standards; previous banquet or catering experience is a plus
