Kilo D'Cofi, a vibrant Mexican coffee shop in Downtown and North East Portland, Oregon, is in search of a dedicated and customer-centric Bilingual Baristas that has experience in a specialty coffee shop to join our team. We are committed to celebrating Mexican coffee traditions and delivering exceptional service, and we're looking for people who share our passion for coffee and cultural experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, such as coffee, tea, and smoothies
- Take customer orders and provide exceptional customer service
- Operate cash register and handle cash transactions accurately
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including cleaning coffee machines, utensils, and equipment
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Assist with food preparation, such as making sandwiches or pastries
- Provide product recommendations and answer customer inquiries
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations and social media presence
Skills:
- Food handling: Knowledge of proper food handling techniques to maintain safety and quality standards
- Retail math: Ability to perform basic calculations for cash transactions, discounts, and inventory management
- Cash handling: Experience in accurately handling cash transactions and providing correct change to customers
- Customer service: Strong interpersonal skills to provide friendly and efficient service to customers
- Food safety: Understanding of food safety regulations and procedures to ensure safe food handling practices
- Food industry: Familiarity with the food industry, including knowledge of different types of beverages and food items
- Basic math: Proficiency in basic mathematical operations for cash handling and inventory management
- Cash register: Ability to operate a cash register or point-of-sale (POS) system accurately
- Food preparation: Experience in preparing simple food items, such as sandwiches or pastries, following recipes or instructions
- POS: Familiarity with point-of-sale systems for processing customer orders and payments
