Overview
Novix Pest Control is hiring an experienced, licensed Lead Pest Control Technician to join our growing Kansas City team.
This is a hands-on field leadership role. The Lead Technician will lead by example on service routes while helping train new technicians up to 60% of the time in the busy season, supporting difficult accounts, and assisting with specialty services. We are looking for someone who takes pride in excellent customer service, strong technical work, and helping others improve.
This position is a great opportunity for an experienced technician who wants to grow into additional leadership opportunities as Novix expands.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality pest control service for residential and commercial customers.
- Maintain an assigned service route and complete services accurately, efficiently, and professionally.
- Perform detailed inspections and recommend appropriate treatment, exclusion, and prevention solutions.
- Assist with difficult pest issues, callbacks, specialty services, and complex customer concerns.
- Help train and coach new technicians through ride-alongs, field support, and hands-on instruction.
- Support technicians with pest identification, treatment decisions, service documentation, and customer communication.
- Help reinforce company service standards, safety procedures, and quality expectations.
- Perform pest control treatments using approved products, traps, exclusion methods, and integrated pest management practices.
- Maintain accurate service records, treatment documentation, photos, and customer notes.
- Communicate professionally with customers and provide practical recommendations to prevent future pest issues.
- Maintain company vehicle, equipment, and materials in a clean, organized, and professional condition.
- Drive company vehicles safely and follow all company and state safety requirements.
Requirements
- Current Kansas pesticide applicator license required.
- Missouri pesticide licensing, or the ability to obtain Missouri licensing, preferred.
- Previous pest control experience required.
- Strong knowledge of general pest control, inspections, treatment methods, and customer communication.
- Experience with rodent control, exclusion, bed bugs, German roaches, mosquitoes, termites, or other specialty services is a plus.
- Ability to train, coach, and support other technicians in the field.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Professional communication skills and a customer-first mindset.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical work, including lifting equipment, climbing ladders, and working in crawlspaces or attics when needed.
