American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cardiac Sonographer / Echocardiographer with a minimum of 5 years of echo experience and at least 2 years in an acute inpatient setting at a Level 1 Trauma facility.

Cardiac sonography position within a dedicated echocardiography department at an acute care hospital

Rotating day shifts, 10 hours each, from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, including rotating weekends

Overnight call from 5:00 PM to 6:30 AM required 2–3 nights per month, subject to strict guidelines and cardiologist approval before call-in

Expected daily workload of 7–8 echocardiograms per day

Procedures include transthoracic echocardiograms (TTEs), stress echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms (TEEs), 3D echo, and strain imaging

High-volume critical care workflow environment

Minimum 5 years of echocardiography experience

At least 2 years of acute inpatient echo experience in a Level 1 Trauma facility

Proficiency in TTEs, stress echos, TEEs, 3D echo, and strain imaging

Strong knowledge of complex cardiac anatomy and pathology

Experience with ultrasound contrast agents and image optimization techniques

Adherence to ASE and IAC standards required

Driver's License required for consideration

Perform a wide range of echocardiographic studies meeting accreditation standards, with emphasis on diagnostic accuracy and image quality

Expected to follow lab protocols and adhere to ASE and IAC quality benchmarks

Collaborative work environment with sonographers, cardiologists, and fellows, including participation in case reviews and educational opportunities

Cell phones, AirPods, and laptops are not permitted on the unit

May be required to float between facilities within a 25-mile radius as needed

Candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility (in Maine or New Hampshire) are considered local and may be subject to a different pay rate; local travelers are not eligible for renewals or extensions
