Job Overview
We are a boutique plastic surgery practice seeking a motivated and personable Medical Assistant to join our team. We offer a wide range of reconstructive surgery, aesthetic surgery and state of the art device treatments. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys patient interaction, is comfortable promoting cash-pay procedures, and excels at talking to patients about everything we offer.
Responsibilities:
- Manage back office operations including organizing supplies, stocking rooms, controlling inventory and maintaining equipment.
- Room patients, maintaining an efficient patient flow
- Take vital signs and check completion needed forms and data entry
- Assist with minor surgery procedures.
- Clean and sterilize instruments.
- Remove sutures, staples, drains, catheters after appropriate training
- Dress wounds
- Discuss non-surgical and surgical aesthetic treatments the practice offers and recommend appropriate skincare products
- Present treatment plans with confidence and professionalism.
- Educate patients regarding care instructions for their treatment
- Assist with front office tasks, including answering phones, messaging patients, scanning documents, scheduling appointments, etc.
- Convert insurance-based inquiries into self-pay/cosmetic procedures when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with HIPAA and practice standards.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a plastic surgery, aesthetics, or medical office setting preferred.
- Understanding of insurance processes and elective/cash-pay procedures.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and sales-minded.
