Assistant Project Manager – Commercial Construction
Location: Sterling, VA
Salary: $75,000–$90,000 + Full Benefits
We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support commercial construction projects with a well-established commercial roofing and waterproofing trades partner. This role reports directly to the Director of Construction and offers a clear path to a Project Manager position through hands-on training and exposure to large, complex projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and change orders
- Support projects from preconstruction through closeout
- Coordinate with field teams, superintendents, and project managers
- Assist with budgeting, scheduling, and project documentation
- Maintain organization across multiple projects simultaneously
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in commercial construction (GC or specialty contractor)
- Strong experience with RFIs, submittals, and change orders
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
- Highly organized with strong communication skills
- Comfortable working in both office and field environments
