Post-harvest Technician:
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and productive Post-Harvest Tech to support our packaging department with occasional assistance in trimming and cultivation. The ideal candidate is a trustworthy individual that can stay focused on repetitive tasks, maintain a high level of output, and work well in a group as well as alone. Candidates must also possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and efficiency, as well as being capable of carrying out physically demanding tasks.
In this role, you will primarily weigh, Quality Control, package, and sticker cannabis products. This role requires someone who is comfortable working with their hands and being seated for long periods of time, can perform repetitive tasks with consistency, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Demonstrate proficiency with weights, measurements, and math.
- Maintain open communication with the management team and co-workers.
- Follow all SOPs, verbal directives, training information and policies when performing duties.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor or team lead.
Requirements:
- Basic weights and measurement skills and ability to operate a scale.
- Must have the ability to focus on a task for long periods of time.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow instructions.
- Fine motor skills and ability to use hands and fingers to precisely and accurately execute tasks.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs or more and perform repetitive tasks.
- Comfortable performing physical labor in various weather conditions, especially heat and sun, as well as cold air conditioning.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time during shifts.
- Must pass any and all required background checks.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
Working Conditions:
- Indoor work with air conditioning
- Outdoor work in varying weather (heat, cold, rain, etc.)
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform reaching, grasping, bending, stooping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time while maintaining focus.
- Must be able to lift, carry, and balance up to 50 pounds AND must be able to do so with extreme care and caution when working with the material.
- Must be able to wear PPE (face mask, gloves, etc.) for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to tolerate hot temperatures (full sun) for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to tolerate cold temperatures (air conditioning) for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work outdoors in the field to assist cultivation as needed.
- Cannabis dust can be hazardous and may cause allergic reactions.
- All personal Protective Equipment provided as well as HEPA and MERV room air filtration.
- Employees take two fifteen minute breaks and a thirty minute lunch break (paid)
- Must be comfortable working in areas under active video surveillance.
Compensation:
- $20 an hour
- Accrued Paid sick leave (up to 40 hours a year- every 30 hours worked earns one hour of sick pay)
- 6 paid holidays for Full Time employees (New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day)
