Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Janitor/Cleaner to join our facilities maintenance team. This vital role ensures that our environment remains clean, safe, and welcoming for all visitors, staff, and clients. As a Janitor/Cleaner, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness across various areas, including offices, restrooms, hallways, and common spaces. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety will help create an optimal environment that promotes health and productivity.
Duties
- Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal to uphold cleanliness standards.
- Handle chemical agents safely during cleaning processes, following all safety protocols and handling procedures to prevent accidents or contamination.
- Operate cleaning equipment including floor buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and other custodial tools to ensure thorough sanitation and floor care.
- Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling of supplies, furniture, or equipment while adhering to safe lifting practices.
- Maintain sanitation in restrooms by disinfecting surfaces, replenishing supplies, and ensuring proper waste disposal.
- Assist with minor maintenance tasks such as reporting facility issues requiring professional repair.
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all cleaning activities to ensure a hazard-free environment for yourself and others.
Qualifications
- Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, custodial equipment operation, and floor care including buffing and polishing.
- Familiarity with chemical handling safety procedures and sanitation standards is essential.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting while maintaining safe lifting practices.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to ensure thorough cleaning routines.
- Good communication skills with a customer service-oriented attitude when interacting with staff or visitors.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety protocols.
