Orthopedic Surgeon PA to be hands on in a private practice setting to help run the clinical practice and help with the Operating room tasks!
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Orthopedic Physician Assistant to join our vibrant healthcare team. Duties
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and assess patient conditions related to musculoskeletal injuries and disorders
- Assist orthopedic surgeons during surgical procedures, including pre-operative preparation and post-operative care
- Manage acute pain through injections, medication administration, and non-pharmacologic interventions such as Botulinum toxin treatments
- Perform suturing, wound care, and aseptic techniques to ensure optimal healing outcomes
- Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic and Cerner for accurate documentation of patient encounters, medical records, and data collection
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals across hospital medicine, emergency medicine, trauma centers, and outpatient clinics to coordinate patient care
- Educate patients on injury prevention, rehabilitation exercises, and post-treatment care plans while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
Experience
- Prior hospital experience in emergency room settings or Level I/II trauma centers demonstrating proficiency in triage, critical care, and acute pain management
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks for medical records management and data entry
- Hands-on clinical research experience or participation in clinical trials related to orthopedic or musculoskeletal conditions
- Skilled in diagnostic evaluation including interpretation of diagnostic tests like radiographs, MRI scans, and laboratory results
- Knowledge of CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) coding, ICD (International Classification of Diseases) coding including ICD-10/ICD-9 for accurate billing and documentation
- Familiarity with advanced procedures such as catheterization, airway management, ventilator support, and radiation therapy is a plus
- Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge relevant to orthopedics and physiology for effective patient assessment and treatment planning
