Position Overview
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for overseeing daily accounting functions, including bank reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance, while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all financial operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work collaboratively with both finance leadership and department heads to support the property’s business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments to maintain accurate general ledger balances.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring completeness and adherence to deadlines.
- Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions as needed.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate any discrepancies.
- Collaborate with department leaders to ensure accurate revenue and expense tracking.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, forecasts, and audit documentation.
- Maintain proper accounting records in accordance with company policies and GAAP standards.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- 2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably in hospitality or lifestyle hotels.
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Excel and hotel accounting systems (e.g., M3, Opera, BirchStreet, or similar).
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining collaboration within the finance team.
