- Alaska Frontier Services LLC is looking for a qualified P/T heavy equipment / truck mechanic to maintain our fleet of equipment which includes Kenworth trucks & trailers, a variety Caterpillar equipment (Loaders/Dozers/Skidsteer) medium size fleet trucks, Asphalt paving equipment and other miscellaneous equipment as needed.
- Job Type: Part time (Monday – Friday (Saturday’s if needed).
- Compensation: DOE (depends on experience) market competitive plus / weekly pay.

We are seeking a skilled P/T Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience in maintaining and repairing various types of heavy machinery. This role is crucial for ensuring the operational efficiency of our industrial equipment, including diesel engines and hydraulic systems. Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Perform maintenance on industrial equipment, including routine inspections and servicing.
- Conduct tire services, including installation, repair, and balancing of tires on heavy machinery.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues with hydraulic systems and other components.
- Work with Caterpillar equipment, performing repairs and maintenance as needed.
- Solder electrical connections and components as part of repair processes.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of service tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, services performed, and parts used.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a mechanic or service technician in the heavy equipment field.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in diesel engine repair and hydraulics.
- Familiarity with industrial equipment maintenance practices.
- Ability to perform tire service tasks efficiently and safely.
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment for troubleshooting mechanical issues.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license may be required based on job location.
