Job Overview
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, have a strong understanding of the orders in development and the shipping/receiving process, and apply their knowledge and skills to increase operational efficiency and the quality of service for the customer. They are responsible for starting the shipping and receiving process through checking trucks in and out, processing all necessary bills required for each order, and communication for all aspects of orders. In addition, they must work with the Warehouse Floor Supervisors and the office staff daily to complete the necessary tasks for shipping and receiving. The position requires the use of a desktop WMS, Microsoft applications, and emails to complete daily tasks, as well as 3rd party scheduling software to schedule appointments and check in orders.
Responsibilities
- Manage the daily schedule of inbound and outbound orders through appointment requests.
- Check-in drivers and communicate all necessary information to the rest of the staff to ensure the orders are completed accurately.
- Process bills for all orders and maintain appropriate records.
- Communicate with the customer when they have questions or requests.
- Monitor stock levels for items on upcoming orders.
Experience
- Prior experience in a shipping department is required.
- A strong understanding of shipping logistics, order fulfillment, and inventory management systems is preferred.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), Microsoft Office, and other computer applications.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
