Duties
- Perform pet grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling coats to meet owner specifications and breed standards
- Handle animals safely and compassionately during grooming procedures, utilizing animal restraint techniques as needed
- Conduct pet nail trimming, ear cleaning, and other hygiene-related grooming tasks with precision
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand grooming preferences and provide advice on pet coat care
- Assist with dog training activities and reinforce good behavior during grooming sessions
- Maintain a clean, organized grooming area while adhering to health and safety protocols
- Offer exceptional customer service by addressing pet owner questions and ensuring a positive experience for both pets and their families
Requirements
- Proven experience in pet grooming, including pet coat styling and pet nail trimming
- Knowledge of animal handling, animal restraint, and safe pet care practices
- Background in veterinary experience or veterinary technician/assistant roles is highly desirable
- Familiarity with dog training techniques and companion animal handling
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely as part of equipment handling or assisting larger animals
- Passion for animal welfare, with a genuine love for working with pets of all sizes and temperaments
