Position Summary
Seeking an experienced maintenance professional to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain hydraulic heavy equipment in an industrial manufacturing environment. The position will focus on keeping production equipment operating safely and efficiently while minimizing downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain hydraulic systems and heavy industrial equipment.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance.
- Inspect hydraulic systems for leaks, wear, damage, pressure issues, and other problems.
- Repair and replace hydraulic pumps, motors, cylinders, valves, hoses, fittings, and hydraulic lines.
- Diagnose hydraulic pressure, flow, and control issues.
- Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, blueprints, equipment drawings, and technical manuals.
- Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble hydraulic components.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform emergency repairs as needed.
- Work closely with production teams to identify equipment issues and minimize downtime.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and parts used.
- Assist with equipment installations, modifications, upgrades, and start-ups.
- Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Qualifications
- Previous experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial hydraulic systems.
- Experience working with heavy equipment in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Ability to read and understand hydraulic schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic pumps, motors, cylinders, valves, hoses, and fittings.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and hydraulic testing equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
Preferred Experience
- Steel manufacturing or heavy industrial experience.
- Experience with large hydraulic presses, production machinery, rolling equipment, pipe manufacturing equipment, or similar machinery.
- Preventive and predictive maintenance experience.
- Hydraulic pressure and flow testing.
- Welding/fabrication experience is a plus.
- Basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting knowledge is a plus.
- CMMS experience is preferred.
Physical & Work Environment
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work around industrial equipment for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move tools, parts, hoses, and maintenance materials.
- Comfortable working in a hot, noisy, dusty, and physically demanding industrial environment.
- Must be able to wear required PPE, including steel-toe boots, safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.
- May require overtime, weekends, holidays, or emergency call-ins based on production needs.
Pay: $27.84 - $33.00 per hour
