Clinical Mental Health Therapist (LCPC/LPC)Position Summary
Provide compassionate, evidence-based counseling that integrates sound clinical psychology with a Christian worldview. Therapists will counsel, support, and empower individuals to achieve optimal emotional, mental, relational, and spiritual well-being while maintaining the highest standards of ethical and professional practice.
Primary Responsibilities
- Integrate principles of clinical psychology with a Christian worldview while providing ethical, evidence-based mental health treatment.
- Foster a safe, supportive therapeutic environment that encourages clients to express their thoughts, emotions, and life experiences, promoting greater self-awareness and relational insight.
- Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments, including suicide risk assessments and ongoing evaluations of client safety.
- Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessment, diagnosis, and client goals.
- Provide counseling to individuals, couples, families, and adolescents to address emotional, behavioral, relational, and mental health concerns.
- Teach practical coping skills, emotional regulation strategies, communication skills, and healthy behavioral changes that support long-term growth.
- Provide crisis intervention and stabilization services when clinically indicated.
- Evaluate client progress and modify treatment approaches as needed to ensure effective care and positive therapeutic outcomes.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, primary care providers, schools, and other healthcare professionals when appropriate to coordinate client care.
- Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation, including treatment plans, progress notes, diagnostic assessments, and all state and federally required records.
- Prepare clinical reports and other documentation as necessary.
- Discuss discharge planning and assist clients in preparing for successful transition following therapy.
- Stay current with developments in the counseling profession through continuing education, professional literature, conferences, and consultation.
- Develop knowledge of community mental health resources and referral options to better serve clients.
- Participate in outreach and marketing efforts that support practice growth and increase community awareness of services.
- Provide both in-person and telehealth counseling services.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
- Master's degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, or a closely related field.
- Current Illinois LCPC preferred, or LPC actively working toward full clinical licensure.
- Minimum of 1–3 years of clinical counseling experience with adults, adolescents, children, couples, and/or families preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to develop strong therapeutic relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication skills, and organizational abilities.
- Commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.
- Willingness to participate in community outreach and marketing initiatives to help expand the practice.
