Southeast Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join our dynamic care team in North Easton. As a Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining the grounds, facility, and equipment under the direction of the department director.
$20 to $23 an hour with weekly pay, depending on experience. We are a 171-bed skilled nursing facility.
Job Responsibilities
Recognize hazards to residents' or staff safety and take appropriate action to maintain a safe environment
Replace, repair, and purchase items according to facility policy and procedure
Plan and implement a preventive maintenance program and document accurately
Maintain weather protection against cold, heat, fire, and other hazards
Supervise outside contractors
Serve on-call for emergency and off-duty hours
Perform errands and tasks as required
Maintain upkeep of exterior of building and grounds in all weather conditions
Requirements
High school diploma or its equivalent
General background in repair and maintenance
Must be able to read, write, and comprehend the English language
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, to follow instructions, and to accept constructive criticism
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public
Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of maintenance areas
Must possess sufficient mechanical abilities to handle facility maintenance needs with little outside contract use
